The best way to explain emailed is to walk through a day with it.

One text: "Morning. 31 emails overnight. Two need you: Elena moved the board meeting to Thursday 2pm, and your AWS bill is 40% higher than usual. The rest was newsletters and promos, held. Want the rundown?" You thumbs-up the AWS one to archive it after a glance. Done before coffee.

A text arrives on its own, because it could not wait: "Recruiter from Linear wants to talk Thursday or Friday. Your Friday is empty." You reply: "friday 2pm, and ask if it can be a call not a video." emailed drafts the email, shows you two lines, you send it with a 👍. A real email goes out from your address.

"That furniture store you bought a lamp from in 2023 is having a MEGA SALE." You 👎 it. Unsubscribed, forever, via the one-click standard. It took less effort than deleting it would have.

A knowledge worker receives around 117 emails a day by Microsoft's count. In this model you read four texts and made five gestures. Nothing was missed: everything held is still in Gmail if you ever want it, and you can always text "show me the promos" to see what got filtered.
