Privacy Policy

emailed ("we", "us") operates emailed.chat, a service that connects to your email and delivers what matters to you over iMessage. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. Questions: milo@milo.gg.

What we collect

Account details. Your phone number (to text you and to verify you), and your name and email if you provide them.
Google account data. If you connect Gmail, we request one Gmail scope (gmail.modify), which covers reading messages, changing their labels, and sending on your behalf. We read message metadata and content to sort and summarise it, and we act on your instructions (archive, unsubscribe, send replies you confirm). We store a securely encrypted Google refresh token, your Google email address, and, per message we process: an identifier, sender, subject, our summary, delivery status, and the message text, which is kept so you can read the full email in your dashboard.
Google Calendar. If you enable it, we request access to calendar events (calendar.events) so you can ask about your schedule and create events by text. We read and create events only, never your calendar settings or sharing configuration.
Usage data. Page views on our website (path, referrer, timestamp, user agent) collected server-side without cookies, used for aggregate analytics.
Payment data. If you subscribe or set up referral payouts, Stripe processes your payment and bank details. We never see or store card or bank numbers; we store only Stripe identifiers.

How we use it

To run the core service: reading your email, deciding what matters, summarizing it, and delivering it to iMessage through our messaging provider (Linq).
To generate triage decisions, summaries, and reply drafts, we send email content to large language model providers (Anthropic, and potentially others). These providers process the data to return a result and, per their terms, do not use it to train their models.
To operate accounts, billing, and the referral program.

What we do not do

We do not sell your personal data.
We do not use your email content to train our own models.
We do not send, delete, or otherwise act on your email without an explicit action from you (a tapback or a confirmed reply).
We do not show ads.

Google API disclosure

emailed's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We request the narrowest scopes needed (gmail.modify and calendar.events) and use that access only to provide and improve the features you see.

We do not transfer Google user data to others except as needed to provide the service, comply with the law, or as part of a merger or acquisition. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not use it to develop, improve, or train generalised AI or machine learning models.

Human access. No person reads your email content except in these narrow cases: you explicitly ask us to look at something (for example when reporting a problem), it is necessary for security purposes such as investigating abuse, or the law requires it.

Data retention and deletion

You can disconnect Google at any time in your dashboard, which deletes your stored Google token immediately. You can request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing milo@milo.gg. We delete data we no longer need to provide the service or meet legal obligations.

Security

Google refresh tokens are encrypted at rest. Traffic is served over HTTPS. Access to production data is limited. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

Third parties

We share data with the vendors that make the service work: Google (email access), Anthropic and similar (AI processing), Linq (iMessage delivery), Stripe (payments and payouts), and our hosting and database provider. Each processes data only to provide their service to us.

Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected here with a new date. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
